When Denim on the Diamond organizers announced the 2022 lineup in April, they promised that more artists would be added to the bill.
They didn’t take long to fulfill that promise, as the music festival announced two additions to the lineup over the past two days.
Friday’s shows will now feature Boy Golden, while Coleman Hell will take the stage on Saturday.
Boy Golden has stormed onto the music scene over the past year or so with his debut album Church Of Better Daze.
His hit single from that album, “KD and Lunch Meat,” has taken over the alternative rock charts in recent months and will certainly have the crowd singing and dancing at Denim on the Diamond.
While Boy Golden is from Winnipeg, Coleman Hell is from Thunder Bay, just an eight hour drive east on the Trans-Canada Highway.
He burst onto the scene in 2015 with the release of his hit single “2 Heads,” which flourished on the rock, alternative rock and even top 40 charts.
More success was found with his follow up “Fireproof,” but it’s been a relatively quiet few years for the 33-year-old since then.
However, his new album Topanga was released last fall and you have plenty of time to get acquainted with it before seeing him live at Kings Stadium in September.
The Denim on the Diamond lineup already included Matt Maeson, Delaney Jane and Wilderado on Friday, with The Reklaws, JJ Wilde and Tebey playing on Saturday.
Tickets for the festival, which takes place on Sept. 2-3, are still available through the festival’s website.
