(UPDATE: Oct. 15 @ 1:05 pm) - Nearly a month later, the Kelowna RCMP has provided more important details regarding the vehicle involved in an incident that saw an older man allegedly try to grab an 11-year-old boy who was walking home from school.
Police provided the following description of the vehicle:
According to the RCMP, the young boy was walking home from school on the afternoon of Sept. 11 when the frightening incident took place.
"As he entered the intersection at Monterey Road and Springfield Road in Kelowna a black four door pickup pulled up alongside him and the rear passenger grabbed his backpack," says an RCMP release.
Fortunately, the boy was able to struggle free and run home.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his 60s who had a white goatee and a red bandana.

(Original story: Sept. 18 @ 4:55 pm) - The Kelowna RCMP is investigating a scary incident that happened in the Rutland area Thursday afternoon.
According to police, an 11-year-old boy was walking home from school around 3:45 pm when a black four-door pickup truck pulled up alongside him as he crossed at Monterey Road and Springfield Road.
“The rear male passenger allegedly reached out an open window and grabbed the boy's backpack, pulling him towards the truck,” said an RCMP release.
“The boy managed to escape and ran home without further incident. It is believed there were three occupants of the vehicle.”
RCMP say the man who allegedly tried to grab the boy is described as a man around 60 years old with a white goatee who was wearing a red bandana.
Since the incident happened, the RCMP has conducted interviews and canvassed the area as investigators work to identify those involved.
"At this time we don't know the motivation or intention behind this incident," said Cpl Jocelyn Noseworthy.
"The victim was extremely frightened by the events and we are appealing to the occupants of the vehicle, or anyone with information to come forward immediately and speak with us."
