Kelowna's 2018 Boat Show is only a few days away

Around 10,000 visitors and 50 exhibitors will descend on the Kelowna Yacht Club next weekend for the city’s 23rd annual Boat Show.

The engaging, lively event, taking place over the April 28-29 weekend, is open to the public and is geared towards boating and water sport enthusiasts.

Guests can walk the docks, checking out the newest products and trends in the boating world before visiting the clubhouse and patio for food, refreshments and to learn about Yacht Club membership benefits.

There will be more than 150 new and used boats for sale, ranging from entry level to pontoon, wakeboard and cruisers.

You’ll also be able to check out the latest paddleboards and kayaks, which would be perfect for Kelowna’s brand new 27 km long Paddle Trail.

Boat detailing, shrink wrap, audio equipment, carpet and canvas repairs, as well as insurance providers and boat charters, will be showcased over the weekend as well.

You’ll also find a variety of dock repair companies offering pile driving, lifts and basic repairs to help mend damage caused from last year’s flooding.

“The 2018 Boat Show is one of many events that the Kelowna Yacht Club hosts in partnership with the boating and local community,” said Thom Killingsworth, the Yacht Club’s executive director. “In 2020, we will be celebrating our 75th anniversary and, as we embrace the future, we commemorate the rich history of our Club.”

Entry to the show is by donation with proceeds going to the Kelowna Yacht Club’s Youth Sailing Program.

The hours are 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday.
