Kelowna’s bi-annual “Great Closet Cleanout” is set to take place today from 10 am to 2 pm at the Laurel Packing House.
The event will once again help ladies update their wardrobes with gently used shoes, clothing and accessories all while supporting local charitable partner Mamas for Mamas.
A portion of proceeds from the event and all leftover clothing will go towards the national charity.
According to organizers, the charitable event also comes with the positive impact purchasing gently used clothes has on the environment.
“With the move away from fast fashions, as people become more concerned about their carbon footprint,” said Rosanne Ting-Mak Brown, Event Producer.
“If one million women bought their next item of clothing secondhand instead of new, we would save about 6 Million kg of carbon pollution entering the atmosphere.”
The first hundred ladies to come through the door with also receive a reusable bag with gifts inside.
