Kamloops Canoe and Kayak Club to host free dragon boat clinics

The Kamloops Canoe Kayak Club (KCKC) is hosting free dragon boat clinics for all KCKC alumni and friends throughout the whole summer.

The sessions will begin Thursday, July 28, and continue every following Thursday until the end of August. Clinics will run from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

KCKC alumni is described as anyone who has participated in a KCKC race, Learn to Race or summer camp program. Each alumni member is allowed to bring up to one friend to the sessions. It is open to individuals aged 12 or older.

Clinics will take place at Shumway Lake, home of the KCKC.

Dragon boats are essentially canoes, but are a whopping 40 feet long, and typically outfitted with a dragon head and tail, hence the name. Around 22 people can fit on a dragon boat.

The free clinics are made possible by the donation from Fulton and Company Lawyers LLP.
