Nearing the end of the second period, Matéj Toman put another on the board for the Cougars, banging one away at the top of the crease for his fifth of the year and reclaiming the Cougars lead at a score of 2-1 going into the third period.
However, midway through the closing period, Martin Lang swept the puck just past Cougars’ goalie Taylor Gauthier to tie the game at 2 as seconds died down.

Undecided after three frames, the two Western Conference teams went into overtime, with the Blazers just narrowly picking up the win with an over time goal from Zane Franklin with only 49-seconds left in the period.
Despite the loss, Taylor Gauthier showed to be a tremendous part of the Cougars’ back end, kicking away 35 of 38 shots Sunday afternoon.
