The Westshore Rebels kept their undefeated streak alive with a 45-10 victory over the Vancouver Island Raiders in a rivalry matchup at Starlight Stadium on Saturday, improving their record to 3-0.
Starting quarterback Te Jessie led the way with another multi-touchdown performance, throwing for 286 yards and three scores. The Winnipeg, MB product has gotten off to a hot start this summer, leading the league with 785 yards and 8 touchdowns on the year.
Regina, Saskatchewan product Kieran Poissant was the favourite target of Jessie on Saturday, catching six balls for 107 yards and a touchdown.
The Rebels were also buoyed by a strong all-around defensive effort, which saw defensive lineman Tarik Polis lead the way with six tackles and 1.5 sacks on the day.
The Rebels will look for their fourth straight win to begin the season when they travel to Kelowna for a date against the Okanagan Sun at the Apple Bowl on Saturday, Aug. 13 at 7 pm.
