Victoria Shamrocks goaltender Pete Dubinski made 38 saves to lead his team to a 10-3 victory in game three of their semifinal playoff matchup with the Langley Thunder on Tuesday.
Victoria also benefited from forward Brad McCulley, who scored three times and recorded one assist in his team’s first win of the series.
The game remained in the ‘Rocks control from the opening draw as the team pitched a shutout in the opening period while scoring three of their own to take a 3-0 lead into the second.
Victoria’s offence would strike four more times in the middle frame as they widened their lead to 7-1 entering the final stanza.
The third would see the team seal the win with three more goals as they cruised to a 10-3 win and avoided going down 3-0 in the series.
The matchup now stands at 2-1 in favour of the Thunder after the Shamrocks dropped the first two matchups earlier this week and will head back to Victoria for game four on Thursday, Aug. 11.
Opening draw for Thursday’s contest is set for 6:30 pm at the Q Centre in Colwood.
