Michalkow, also a member of the Kelowna United Junior Heat, scored four times and Metz, who signed on with Providence University College in Manitoba last month, added three goals in the lopsided affair at Kelowna Secondary School.
Patricia Humber rounded out the scoring for KSS while Olivia Kalashnikoff recorded the shutout.
The win improved the Owls’ record to 2-0 after they had opened the season with a 4-0 win over the Rutland Voodoos.
Joining the Black and Gold atop the standings are the defending-champion Okanagan Mission Huskies and the Mt. Boucherie Bears.
OKM defeated Rutland 4-1 on Monday, following up a 9-1 defeat of the Salmon Arm Jewels a week earlier. The MBSS Bears downed Salmon Arm 2-0 on Wednesday and shut out Penticton 2-0 in their season debut.
Week 3 action will see Boucherie playing host to OKM on Wednesday while the Owls meet Salmon Arm at KSS. The Voodoos travel to Penticton. All games begin at 4 p.m.
The winner of the Okanagan Valley league will earn a berth at the B.C. School Sports provincial championship tournament being held in Surrey May 30-June 1.
