On Thursday, Sept. 29, the Community Recreational Initiatives Society (CRIS) will be gathering at Rotary Park in Penticton for a day of all-inclusive fun.
Members of CRIS will be teamed up for another installment of the South Okanagan Adaptive Amazing Race.
The event is all about having fun, building teamwork and camaraderie, and learning about adaptive recreation and the barriers that people living with disabilities face.
It’s also aimed at raising money to support the important programs at CRIS.
Funds raised go directly towards CRIS which includes the purchase of adaptive equipment so they can provide accessible and inclusive outdoor recreation options for persons living with disabilities throughout the Okanagan.
Teams competing in the Adaptive Amazing Race will utilize a piece of adaptive equipment to race against the clock and one another, completing challenges that will test their physical, sensory, and intellectual skills.
The team with the highest point count at the end of the day will be crowned this year's Adaptive Amazing Race Champions.
Community members are encouraged to come out for the day by cheering on the teams competing, making a donation, or by learning more about CRIS.
