O’Keefe Ranch hiring ‘scare actors’ for Field of Screams Haunted Corn Maze

Anyone who loves spooky season and is looking to make a little extra money this fall is likely the perfect candidate for a new job posting from O’Keefe Ranch.

The historic Vernon ranch is home to the annual Field of Screams Haunted Corn Maze, and the popular event needs several people who can channel their inner ghoul, ghost or monster.

“Field of Screams Haunted Corn Maze is thrilled to announce an open casting call for passionate scare actors who have a flair for the eerie and an appetite for the macabre,” explains a release.

Interested parties must meet the following qualifications:

• Applicants must be 16 years of age or older to apply. If you are 14-15, you may apply, but you must have parental consent.
• Scare actors must commit to attending a minimum of 5 shifts throughout the season.
• The role involves working in an active, outdoor environment and standing for extended periods. Please ensure you're physically prepared for this.
• You should be comfortable wearing and performing in costumes and makeup,
• transforming into your frightful character.

All scare actors must be available for costume fitting on Sept. 23, from 1-5 pm, and dress rehearsal on Sept. 26, from 6:30-9 pm.

Then, they will need to be available for a minimum five nights over the following dates: Sept. 29-Oct. 1, Oct. 5-8, Oct. 11-15, Oct. 18-22 and Oct. 25-31.

The compensation is $16.75 an hour.
