(UPDATE: August 10 @ 12 p.m.) - The Osoyoos RCMP took a women into custody after she allegedly forced her way into an Osoyoos resident's home, asking to "see the baby." The 45-year old woman has been identified as Sharon Constance Forner.
She has been charged with one count each of assault with a weapon sec 267(a) CC, break and enter to commit and indictable offence sec 348(1)(a) CC, and possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace or the purpose of committing an offence Sec 88(1) CC.
She remains in custody and will appear in court in Penticton this afternoon.

(UPDATE: August 9 @ 2 p.m.) - Osoyoos RCMP have located and arrested a woman that allegedly forced her way into a residence asking to view the homeowners baby.
The incident took place at around 9 a.m. yesterday at an Osoyoos home. According to police, the woman was concealing a weapon at the time.
The 45-year-old female involved in this case is currently in custody and is set to appear in court in Penticton tomorrow afternoon.
(Original story: August 9 @ 12:38 p.m.) - Police are investigating an incident in the South Okanagan, where a new mother reported having an unknown woman entered a home, demanding to see the homeowner’s baby.
On August 8, shortly before 9 a.m., Osoyoos RCMP received a report that a woman walked into a residence on 78th Avenue and when confronted by the homeowner, asked to see her baby.
The resident pushed the woman out of the door and the woman then allegedly grabbed a weapon concealed in her waist band forcing her way back into the house. The resident pushed the woman out of the door once again and reported the incident to Osoyoos RCMP.
Patrols for the woman were not successful in locating her. Police have since identified this woman and efforts are underway to locate her. The investigation is continuing and criminal charges have not been laid against her.
"We understand that this incident was very traumatic for this new mother," says Sgt. Jason Bayda, Osoyoos Detachment Commander. "We are doing what we can to locate her and determine what her intentions were."
