UPDATE: The time for Kelsey Serwa's Kelowna viewing party has changed

(UPDATE: Feb 21. @ 6:15 p.m.) - There's been a time change for the women's ski cross at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.

The event was originally schedule to begin with qualification at 6 p.m. PST on Thursday, but qualification occurred on Wednesday night.

Up next for the event is the first eight elimination heats, which will now begin at 5:00 p.m. PST on Thursday.

That means the start of the Kesley Serwa viewing party has been rescheduled for 4:30 p.m. PST.

You have a little leeway, however, as Serwa won't race until the eighth heat at 5:28 p.m. PST.

Marielle Thompson of Whistler races at 5 p.m. PST, Brittany Phelan of Quebec races at 5:16 p.m. PST and India Sherret of Cranbrook races at 5:20 p.m. PST.

(Original story: Feb 19 @ 12:15 p.m.) - There’s a good chance the Boston Pizza in the Dilworth Shopping Centre will be the loudest place in Kelowna on Thursday night.

That’s where the Kelsey Serwa Cheering Party will be as the Kelowna native and pride of Big White goes for the gold medal in women’s ski cross at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

The party will begin at 6 p.m., 30 minutes before the start of the qualification run in PyeongChang.

With all the women’s ski cross events happening on Thursday night, the viewing party will last from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.

If Serwa makes it through qualification, she’ll need to advance through four rounds of elimination races between 8:15 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.

The viewing party, which is being hosted by Barefoot Venus, will feature door prizes, a 50/50 and a draw for some great local prizes.

You can also purchase a special Kelsey Serwa Athlete’s Edition Mustard Bath, autographed by Serwa herself.

Anyone is welcome to come cheer on Serwa on Thursday night as she guns for another OIympic medal after winning silver at Sochi 2014.
