Penticton forced to cancel triathlon event today as B.C. deals with poor air quality

The Kelowna Apple Triathlon was cancelled yesterday and today due to heavy smoke in the region, and Penticton athletes have been dealt the same blow.

The Super League Triathlon in Penticton was also forced to cancel all their races for today in order to keep everyone safe.

They are letting them go empty handed though. All of the events were cancelled for the Kelowna triathlon, but Penticton was able to get a few races in.

“If you’ve raced already, we’d love to get you the finisher t-shirt and medal you worked so hard for.”

The race officials set up at the finish line with a camera man to grab photos of the racers with their prizes.

“Thanks again for your enthusiasm for Super League Triathlon in Penticton and for bringing your all to the first two days of racing,” they said.
