Environment Canada called for a possibility Thursday night of severe thunderstorms that "may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain."
By 11 pm, we hadn't seen much of the wind, the hail or the rain, but there certainly was a constant barrage of lightning overhead, at least between 9 and 10 pm.
From PentictonNow's position on the West Bench, most of that lightning appeared to be focused over the mountains to the east.
And much of it was partially obscured by thick, dramatic clouds that looked even more spectacular when illuminated.
There's a chance of showers both Friday and Saturday before we revert back to sunny, clear conditions Sunday through Weednesday.
