Prince George Cougars goaltender Taylor Gauthier has been named to Team Canada’s Men’s Under-18 team for the World U18 Hockey Championship.
Gauthier is one of three goalies that make up the 23-man roster. The Calgary product played in 55 games for the Cougars where he collected 15 wins and a save percentage of .899.
Gauthier played in the Sherwin-Williams CHL/NHL Top Prospects game in Red Deer and is ranked fifth among North American Goalies in NHL Central Scouting.
Having represented Canada twice, Gauthier is no stranger to the international stage. He won a gold medal with Canada at the Hlinka-Gretzky Cup last August and played for Canada's Team White at the 2017 World U17 Hockey Challenge in Dawson Creek and Fort St. John.
Team Canada opens the tournament on Thursday against Finland. TSN will be broadcasting Canada's games.
