Four Rivers Co-op reactivates Fire Relief Fund to support those affected by wildfire evacuations

As more wildfires spread across the province, communities and businesses are coming together to support those in need.

Four Rivers Co-op has once again opened their Fire Relief Fund to help support those affected by the evacuations.

This fund originally started in 2016 during the Fort McMurray fire and has been a success every year.

Last year, the business was able to donate $40,000 to the Red Cross as a result of the fund.

Starting today, customers at any of the Four River Co-op locations can donate any amount of money that will go directly towards the Red Cross to help with evacuation relief.

“With the evacuations being so close to home, we felt now was the time to reactivate the fund to provide support through the Red Cross,” said Renee Dick, Four Rivers Co-op Marketing Manager.

Each dollar will be matched in order to maximize any donation. The money will be donated directly to the Red Cross who will then distribute the money wherever it is needed most.

“We are community oriented. We invest in the community and are here to support the community the best we can,” said Dick.

“When a crisis like this happens, this is our opportunity to step in and help out by allowing community members to help the people they care about.”

Those who wish to donate can do so at the following locations:

  • Prince George: Gas Bar/Convenience Store at 6749 Westgate Avenue and Bulk Petroleum Office at 998 Railway Road in the BCR Site
  • Quesnel: Agro/Convenience Store at 1280 Quesnel-Hixon Road
  • Vanderhoof: Home Centre at 250 West Stewart Street, Administration Office and Food Store both located at 188 East Stewart Street, Gas Bar/Convenience Store at 227 W 1st Street and the Bulk Petroleum office at 909 Hwy 16 W.
  • Houston: Petroleum office at 2900 Hamblin Road
  • Terrace: Petroleum office at 4925 Keith Ave

Let's support our community, PG!
