As more wildfires spread across the province, communities and businesses are coming together to support those in need.
Four Rivers Co-op has once again opened their Fire Relief Fund to help support those affected by the evacuations.
This fund originally started in 2016 during the Fort McMurray fire and has been a success every year.
Last year, the business was able to donate $40,000 to the Red Cross as a result of the fund.

Starting today, customers at any of the Four River Co-op locations can donate any amount of money that will go directly towards the Red Cross to help with evacuation relief.
“With the evacuations being so close to home, we felt now was the time to reactivate the fund to provide support through the Red Cross,” said Renee Dick, Four Rivers Co-op Marketing Manager.
Each dollar will be matched in order to maximize any donation. The money will be donated directly to the Red Cross who will then distribute the money wherever it is needed most.
“We are community oriented. We invest in the community and are here to support the community the best we can,” said Dick.
“When a crisis like this happens, this is our opportunity to step in and help out by allowing community members to help the people they care about.”
Those who wish to donate can do so at the following locations:
