Prince George RCMP arrest two people in possession of stolen vehicles

Prince George RCMP have arrested two people who were in possession of stolen trucks.

On Feb. 12, the RCMP received a report of a stolen 2004 Ford F-350 pick-up from a residence on Thompson Drive.

The vehicle had been stolen sometime overnight.

Just after 11 p.m. on Feb. 13, police observed the stolen truck being driven on John Hart Highway.

The female driver stopped at a gas station and exited the vehicle and was arrested moments later.

At the time of the arrest, she was found in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine.

Monique Lee Willey is a 29-year-old Prince George resident.

She is currently facing a number of charges:

  • possession of property obtained by crime
  • possession of a controlled substance
  • fail to comply with an undertaking
  • fail to comply with probation

Willey is set to make her first appearance in court later today.

On Feb. 14, police received another report of a stolen vehicle from Westgate Avenue. The vehicle was described as a 2006 Ford F-350 and was thought to have been stolen earlier in the morning.

Patrols were made throughout the community and at approximately 9:15 a.m. officers located the stolen vehicle being driven down Nation Crescent.

According to police, the vehicle crossed 15th Avenue and entered a private parking lot that only had two exits.

Police positioned themselves on both exists.

In an attempt to escape, the suspect accelerated toward and collided with a fully marked police vehicle. The driver then attempted to flee on foot, however, was arrested a short distance later.

One officer received treatment from paramedics for minor injuries.

Aidan Wesley Macdonald is a 42-year-old resident of Cluculz Lake.

Macdonald is currently facing the following charges:

  • fail to stop for police
  • resisting arrest
  • assault with a weapon
  • assault police officer
  • dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Drive While Prohibited (4 counts)
  • knowingly drive while prohibited
  • fail to comply with probation (2 counts)

Macdonald will also make his first appearance in court later today.

The Prince George RCMP would like to take this time to remind the public to take the necessary steps to prevent vehicle theft.
