Two BC men are facing drug-related charges in connection to a 2023 investigation into an alleged drug trafficking operation in the Lower Mainland.
The investigation was launched last June.
In August 2023, officers with the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC) executed several search warrants in Richmond, Burnaby and Surrey.
Those warrants led to the seizure of nearly 30 grams of drugs, including methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine and ketamine. One kilogram of “cutting agents” were also seized.
Drug paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking and over $79,000 was also seized.
On Aug. 27 of this year, the Public Prosecution Service of Canada approved charges against 22-year-old Samardeep Dhami of Surrey and 40-year-old Randy Chu of Burnaby.
Those charges include one count each of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Both Dhami and Chu have been arrested and released with conditions awaiting the judicial process, said the CFSEU-BC in a news release.
“We remain committed to holding accountable drug traffickers who prey on the most vulnerable citizens in our communities by trafficking in potentially deadly fentanyl and other substances,” said Sergeant Brenda Winpenny with the CFSEU-BC.
