Travelling between the mainland and Vancouver Island will be a little easier thanks to BC Ferries expanded summer schedule.
It’s the peak season for travel, which means dozens of extra sailings on BC Ferries’ three main routes.

There will now be 6 a.m. sailings between Tsawwassen and Victoria from Monday to Saturday with hourly sailings between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily.
There will also be a number of late night sailings, including daily 9 p.m. sailings in both directions, and midnight departures from Swartz Bay on June 28 and Aug. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30.
Between West Vancouver and Nanaimo, there will be 6:25 a.m. sailings in both directions every day and select 11:40 p.m. sailings leaving Horseshoe Bay.
Finally, there will be two vessel providing 16 sailings per day between 5:15 a.m. and 10:45 p.m. on the route between Tsawwassen and Nanaimo.
The rest of those additions will begin on Friday, June 21.
BC Ferries says the most popular summer travel times for those heading to the island are Thursday and Friday afternoons, as well as Saturday mornings.
Coming back to the mainland, the most popular travel time is Sunday afternoons.
