A BC man has been arrested in connection with a string of acts of public masturbation.
The “disturbing” incidents involved a man in a vehicle approaching or waving down women before exposing himself, masturbating and then driving away.
They were recorded over the last two months in Saanich, Victoria, Oak Bay and Westshore on Vancouver Island.
The first incident was reported in October.
On Dec. 10, a man from Metchosin was arrested.
He has since been released pending a court appearance early in 2021.
“This is a disturbing series of events that appear to be connected, however, the investigation is still very active and it is too early to confirm that this suspect identified is responsible for all of these indecent acts,” said Cst. Markus Anastasiades.
“Anyone that may have been a witness to these incidents or that was directly approached by someone in a similar manner is asked to please contact their local police agency.”
Since the arrest, no further incidents “of this nature” have been reported, police added.
