BC masseur arrested and charged after alleged sexual assault of client

A 33-year-old masseur was arrested, charged and released on bail after allegedly sexually assaulting a female client last week.

The investigation began after the woman in her 30s reported the incident to police.

She said she had hired Alexander Varfolomeev to come to her home to provide treatment.

The booking was done through an app called Soothe.

Varfolomeev visited the woman at her home to give the massage, which is when the alleged sexual assault took place.

Although he’s been released on bail, Varfolomeev has been issued a court order that prohibits him from providing massages or any kind of physical therapy to the public.

The Vancouver Police Department is encouraging anyone else that may be a victim of this type to come forward.
