BC musician singing a happy tune after scratching his way to $1M

Edward Perry owns 85 instruments and it’s safe to say that collection might grow a bit after his recent stroke of good luck.

The Langley musician is British Columbia’s newest millionaire after winning $1,000,000 from a scratch and win ticket.

The BCLC did not specify what scratch and win ticket produced the massive jackpot, but did say the odds of winning the top prize were 1:400,000.

“It’s a wonderful feeling, it’s hard to express,” noted Perry. “I feel bubbly.”

Perry explained that his win shut the lottery machine down at the Otter Co-op Gas Bar in Aldergrove and had other customers at the store asking to take pictures with him.

As for what he plans on doing with the money, Perry said he has a few things in mind.

“I want to celebrate with my family back in Ontario,” he said. “I’ll have a catered dinner with whatever food and drinks they want.”

He’s also eyeing a new truck and a bucket list trip to Newfoundland.
