Premier John Horgan's brother, Pat, has died of lung cancer.
Horgan's press secretary, Sheena McConnell, released a statement on his passing.
"It's with great sadness that we announce that Pat Horgan, Premier John Horgan's brother, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018.
"Pat passed away from cancer at the age of 71. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends."

The premier has plans to be in Asia on Jan. 20.
A service will be held in Pat's home community of Port McNeil on Feb. 10.
Instead of flowers, the family is asking people to donate to the BC Cancer Agency to support lung cancer research.
