B.C.'s southern interior will not go without long-haul bus service to Vancouver, Kelowna and Kamloops after all.
The Passenger Transportation Board has approved an application from charter transportation company Ebus to take over several existing Greyhound routes.
In July, Greyhound announced it would be discontinuing all routes in B.C., leaving many to wonder if any service would replace the long-standing bus company.
The approval of Ebus will now provide passengers with bus service from Kelowna to Vancouver, Kelowna to Kamloops and Kamloops to Vancouver.
Trips between Kelowna and Kamloops will include stops in Vernon, while trips between Kelowna and Vancouver will include stops in Merritt and Chilliwack.
Service between Kamloops and Vancouver would include stops in Merritt and Abbotsford.
Greyhound is scheduled to cease its service by Oct. 31, with Ebus expected to begin its service Nov. 1.
