UPDATE: Police release footage of 2 suspects, car related to North Vancouver shooting

(UPDATE: Mar. 15 @ 7:30 pm) – Footage has been released in relation to a brazen shooting that happened in the parking lot of a North Vancouver grocery store last week.

On Friday, North Vancouver RCMP received multiple reports of shots fired in the parking lot of the local Real Canadian Superstore.

When officers and medical responders arrived on scene, they located a man suffering from gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, the man died of his injuries. The victim was identified as 34-year-old Milad Rahimi.

The next day, around 7 pm, the North Vancouver Fire Department and RCMP responded to a car fire on the 300-block of Tempe Crescent. It was later determined that the vehicle was the suspect vehicle involved in the shooting.

On Tuesday (Mar. 15), the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) released footage and pictures of two people associated with the Mazda 3 with stolen licence plates.

Investigators are also looking for dash cam or CCTV footage in the area from Friday Mar. 11 between 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm, and Saturday Mar. 12 between 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm.

The driver of the Mazda 3 is described as wearing a:

  • Black hoodie

  • Grey pants with either a patched or torn pattern

  • Black shoes

  • Wearing a medical mask

  • Carrying a grey backpack with a single strap

The passenger exiting the Mazda 3 is described as wearing:

  • 3/4 length black jacket with a hood and a white symbol on the left shoulder

  • Grey pants

  • Black shoes


(Original Story: Mar. 12 @ 6:15 pm) – Police and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team are investigating following a murder in broad daylight at a North Vancouver grocery store on Friday.

According to the IHIT, the incident occurred at 2:45 pm at the Superstore located at 333 Seymour Boulevard. Witnesses reported shots fired in the parking lot before the suspect fled north down Seymour and westbound on Mt Seymour Parkway.

His vehicle is described as a newer model dark blue Mazda 3 hatchback.

When emergency services arrived on scene, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was taken to the hospital, though he later succumbed to his injuries.

The victim was identified as 34-year-old Milad Rahimi. He was known to police and the event is believed to be targeted.

"We are hoping to speak to Mr. Rahimi’s friends and associates in an effort to build a timeline of his activities for the days leading up to his death."
