Police looking for a first degree murder suspect believed to be in the Vancouver area

The Winnipeg Police Services Homicide Unit is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in a first-degree murder case.

Matthew Marjanovic, 29, is wanted in connection with the death of Mustafa Peyawary on Aug. 13, 2017. Police believe he is in the Vancouver, Calgary or Edmonton area.

The public is cautioned not to approach the suspect, as he is considered to be armed and dangerous. If seen, the public is asked to call 911.

Marjanovic is described as Caucasian, 5’6”, 140 lbs, with short brown hair, brown eyes, and numerous tattoos.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts, or information related to the case, is asked to contact homicide investigators at 204-986-6508 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-8477.

A statement released by investigators on Aug. 15, 2017, said the victim had signs of massive blunt force trauma to his body and it is believed that he was assaulted over an extended period of time.

Two other suspects, Damir Kulic of Vancouver and Ahamed Althaaf Ismail of Edmonton were identified and taken into custody at that time and were later charged by the Homicide Unit.
