There could be some controversy on the set of Riverdale after a long day on set led to a car crash for one of the show’s lead actors.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, K.J. Apa, who plays Archie on the hit series, was involved in a single-vehicle crash on his way home from set last week.
After a 16-hour day of filming in the Fraser Valley, the 20-year-old was driving on his own back to his Vancouver hotel.
Sources say the actor fell asleep at the wheel during the 45-minute drive and crashed his car into a light post shortly after midnight.
Apa escaped the ordeal with only minor injuries, but his car was totalled in the accident and rendered inoperable.
He even participated in a charity soccer match with Vancouver Whitecaps alumni on Saturday.

The Hollywood Reporter says that the accident has ignited a bit of protest from other actors on the Riverdale set.
They’re unhappy over the fact that the show routinely shoots into the early morning hours and the cast and crew aren’t provided with any kind of transportation to and from the set.
Warner Bros. executives and the show's actors will reportedly meet to discuss these concerns on Friday.
