The excitement surrounding Morgan Freeman’s new voiceovers for Vancouver transit has come to an abrupt halt.
Leading up to Thursday, the actor had recorded a series of announcements that would be played on Translink's SkyTrain and buses for the next two months.
However, Translink BC has hit pause on the voiceovers just days after their announcement following CNN’s report of eight women accusing Freeman of inappropriate behaviour.
In light of information we’ve learned through news stories this morning of serious allegations , TransLink has decided to pause his voice announcements as part of a VISA ad campaign on the transit system. We will be reaching out to VISA to discuss further. ^AR

Before CNN broke their story this morning, Vancouverites were excited about Freeman's distinct voice prompting them to do things like not hold SkyTrain doors open.
Now, Vancouver native Seth Rogen has thrown his hat in the ring of possible replacements for the voiceovers by responding on Twitter Thursday morning.
His interest received a quick response from Translink BC.
Thanks for the offer Seth. Let's DM and talk. ^rw

Rogen, perhaps best known for his deep bellowing laugh, has done notable voice acting in several animated movies including the Kung Fu Panda series.
People in Metro Vancouver have already taken to Twitter to express their approval for Rogen.
Sweet geezus please make this happen. Imagine being stuck between Commercial and Main for 5 minutes but Seth comes on and laughs about there being delays. We'd all relax a little bit.

PLEASE. And instead of the musical dings when the doors are about to close on the sky trains can it be Seth’s laugh??

Fellow Vancouver Ryan Reynolds has also been suggested as a replacement with some saying his Deadpool character's trademark sass would be perfect for a set of announcements.
I want ryan reynolds. Deadpool telling you facts & making up BS about Vancouver would make any delay on @TransLink worth it

For now, Translink BC has made no further announcement on the future of the voiceovers.
