Speed and intoxication believed to be factors in crash that killed 3 people in BC

The driver survived the collision, and is in hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries. All three passengers were killed.

Cpl. James Grandy, BC RCMP spokesperson, confirmed that speed and intoxication are believed to be contributing factors in the fatal collision.

The incident also knocked out power lines, which led to an outage in the community.

“RCMP offers their condolences to the families affected in this tragic incident,” Grandy said.

The RCMP is investigating alongside the BC Highway Patrol collision reconstructionist and the BC Coroners Service.
