RCMP have determined the cause of a fatal crash earlier this year in the Lower Mainland.
In March, police responded to an early morning crash along Lougheed Highway at 1 a.m. in Coquitlam, BC.
According to RCMP, officers discovered a Tesla fully engulfed in flames and severely damaged after colliding with a telephone pole.
Upon arrival, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency crews.
Following a lengthy investigation, RCMP determined neither mechanical or computer failure were factors in the accident.
However, the driver had more than three times the legal alcohol limit in his system.
The investigation also reported the driver was traveling at speeds over 150 km/h in an area with a 60 km/h speed limit.
