(UPDATE: 9 a.m.) - The Coquihalla Highway (Hwy 5) has reopened between Merritt and Hope.
According to DriveBC, there is a single lane closure in effect south of exit 256 as BC Hydro restores power, which is causing minor delays.

(Original story: 6:30 a.m.) - An early morning crash has closed the Coquihalla Highway (Hwy 3).
The closure is near the Coldwater Interchange, just south of Merritt, and it’s due to a vehicle incident.

All southbound lanes are closed, while only one northbound lane remains open at the time.
Alternate routes are available through Hwy 1 and Hwy 8.
An update from DriveBC is expected before 7 a.m., but there’s currently no estimated time for the road to reopen.
