Here's a look at the road conditions throughout the Okanagan

The weekend forecast is calling for a mix of sun and clouds. Overall it's shaping up to be a great day to hit the road and drive.

Here's a quick peek at the conditions for some of the main veins throughout the Okanagan.

If you're heading towards the West Coast, the Highway 97C junction remains clear and dry this morning. Again, sun and cloud are in store for Saturday, with a high of around 8 C.

Pennask Summit will see colder temperatures (-9 C) due to its high elevation of 1,700 metres, but the sun is doing its best to warm up the conditions.

It could be a sign of spring, but the Coquilla Summit is showing less snow and more pavement on the road today.

The Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merrit should remain sunny throughout the morning, with increasing cloudiness around noon. There's a 60% chance of showers this afternoon, with the potential for a few wet flurries near the summit.

Again, signs of spring are showing around the WR Bennet Bridge area, with sun starting to (slowly) warm the waters. The roads are dry and clear, with patches of sun and cloud.

If you're heading towards Big White, on Highway 33, conditions are mainly sunny with increasing cloudiness throughout the day and a 30% chance of showers this afternoon.

Further afield, North Okanagan (Vernon, Armstrong and Enderby), have a Special Air Quality statement in effect due to dust particles. While there's a mix of sun and clouds, be prepared for slightly less visible conditions in some areas due to the air quality statement.

For the latest road conditions, be sure to visit DriveBC.

Remember to be safe and watch for other drivers tonight as it's St. Patrick's Day.
