A pair of violent suspects have been arrested following an armed robbery and a violent break and enter in Salmon Arm earlier this week.
According to Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey, on Thursday at 2 pm, officers from Princeton RCMP responded to a suspicious person report from a local Blackmine Road resident. The resident apparently had a strange encounter with a man he believed was casing the area.
The complainant followed the suspicious man who met up with a second suspect. A group of local residents surrounded the two until officers arrived on scene.
After investigating, police determined the men were suspects in the recent violent break and enter, and armed robbery in Salmon Arm. They were both taken into custody without incident.
"Front line officers performed checks of nearby homes along Blackmine Road and located a residence that showed signs of forced entry and believed it to be the scene of a break and enter," said O'Donaghey.
The 46-year-old Nanaimo man and 44-year-old Kelowna man were held in police custody. Both men face a number of criminal charges following investigations in Princeton and Salmon Arm.
