My name is Courtney Ungaro and I am an interior designer living in the beautiful city of Kelowna with my husband & 2 girls. If I’m not working, or driving kids back and forth to school/extracurricular activities you can probably find me riding my bike to a local brewery, winery or restaurant - enjoying the Okanagan lifestyle!
Why do you use Instagram?
I started using Instagram as another creative outlet while working at my previous interior design job and I found it was easier and less time consuming than a blog. Now that I’ve started my own company, which provides design services as well as small event & brand styling, I use Instagram as a way of sharing my work, hopefully providing some inspiration as well as connecting with like minded creatives.
What will people see on your feed?
Mostly design inspiration, tips and tricks of the trade, projects and collaborations I’m working on, things that inspire me, along with a little personal thrown in the mix (I’ve quickly learned that I like to be behind the scenes!).
Does your page have a specific style?
I would probably describe my style as modern eclectic.

Why do you follow KelownaNow?
I follow KelownaNow because they are always up to date on the current events and know what's happening in Kelowna. They do a great job promoting small/local businesses!
How do you decide on your location for shoots?
It will depend on the product or style of shoot I’m doing. If it’s for design it’s usually around my house or at a client’s house I’m working at. If it’s for a styled shoot for company promotion we try to find somewhere that is on brand with the business. Sometimes I’ll see a location that inspires me and I’ll plan a shoot around that location.
Biggest Instagram moment?
I hosted an event at Kitsch Winery last summer with local photographer Amanda Rentiers. We invited all the local people we connected with on social media but had never met in real life. People were very apprehensive assuming we had something to sell or push on them, but we had no agenda and just wanted to get a group of like minded individuals together. We weren’t sure if anyone would show up or how the event would turn out, but in the end, the evening was perfect! I created some great friendships and even the ladies of Birch Hill Studio in Vernon came (which if you don’t follow them on Instagram, you should start!).
