KelownaNow is excited to feature some of our favorite Instagram profiles from the area!
When I sat down and went over the things that were the most important to me, it was like this path had been waiting for me all along. I care a lot about the environment, and I care a lot about people. Last year as a I neared my 28th birthday I realized it was time to start doing something important, that I was passionate about, that made me feel fulfilled, and Mountain Medicine Holistics was born.
Why do you use Instagram?
A combination of shameless self marketing and the ability to curate a personal community.
What will people see on your feed?
So many plants. I should probably take more pictures of products or recipes, but most of my pictures are of my wildcrafting locations. I’m in constant awe when I’m out in the woods and thats what I really want to share with people.
Does your page have a specific style?
My ego says no but my OCD says yes. I like when an account has a uniform feel to it, and I like very clear, unposed photos. That being said, I don’t want to stick to anything to rigidly because I change all the time and I want my followers to anticipate that a little bit.
Favourite Instagram accounts to follow?

@ravenouszine - Print journal for wild women
@she_is_of_the_woods - An incredibly straight forward medicine maker
@mariarosesikyea - an Indigenous woman who practices old skills
@wildfoodlove - Foraging community
Why do you follow KelownaNow?
I really appreciate how specifically local it is. It’s always relevant, and always interesting.
How do you decide on your location for shoots?
I don’t! Every photo is done from my iPhone and I always have my phone on me. The reality is that most of the places I adventure to are too good not to take a picture while I'm there.
Biggest Instagram moment?
Being featured on @wildfoodlove generated a lot of traffic for me and helped get my name out there. At the time it was an incredible feeling to have them introduce me.
