Man found dead inside business in Ucluelet

Police are investigating the death of a man in Ucluelet.

According to the RCMP, on October 26, police received a report that a man was discovered dead inside a local business on Peninsula Road.

An individual called police after making several attempts at contacting the man, without success.

Police said the individual then entered the business and found the man deceased.

The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) was contacted for assistance as a precaution, to determine if the man’s death is suspicious.

“This investigation is currently in the very early stages, and we are still trying to determine the nature of the incident that caused this man’s death,” said Sgt. Chris Manseau, Division Media Relations Officer for the BC RCMP.

The BC Coroners Service is also conducting a concurrent fact-finding investigation into this unexpected death.

The deceased’s name will not be released by police.
