3 people sent to hospital with stab wounds after series on incidents in Victoria

Three people have been arrested and three are in hospital recovering from stab wounds following a series of incidents on Saturday night.

VicPD said that police were called to the 800-block of Johnson Street just after 8:45 pm for a report that a man was chasing two other men while wielding a large metal pipe.

Officers located a man matching the suspect’s description and located a metal pipe with a sharpened end nearby.

Police said the man had an outstanding warrant for a breach of a court-ordered condition, and he was arrested and transported to cells, where he was held for a bail hearing. The two men the suspect chased were not located.

A short time later, just after 9:20 pm, officers were called to the 900-block of Pandora Avenue for a report that a man had been stabbed by two men.
Officers attended and located the victim in a tent suffering from potentially life-threatening stab wounds.

The man was transported to hospital by BC Emergency Health Services paramedics where he received medical treatment. His injuries are now considered non-life-threatening.

Police said that the description of the stabbing suspects matched the descriptions of the two victims in the previous call involving the man wielding a sharpened metal pipe.

Those two men were then located when they attended an area hospital, themselves suffering from non-life-threatening stab wounds. They were identified and arrested by officers.
