West Kelowna has given the final local stamp of approval to five retail cannabis shops.
Applications for Cheeba Cheebas, Flora, Prime Cannabis, Spirit Leaf and Canndara are now in the hands of the province.
However, there is no timeline for when the stores will actually open.
Cheeba's Cheebas is the application of Chris Gayford, who also owns Mary Jane’s headquarters in Kelowna and West Kelowna.
Meanwhile, Spirit Leaf recently opened the Okanagan’s first provincially approved cannabis store in Vernon.
Once approved by the province, successful applicants will have to purchase a $5,000 cannabis business license from the City of West Kelowna.
