A blasting permit has been issued for the City of West Kelowna for a 24-acre property in the Rose Valley area.
The site, at 2010 Bartley Rd., will be the future home of the Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant.
“Blasting is scheduled to commence later this week and is anticipated to occur Monday to Friday, and occasionally on Saturday as needed to meet project deadlines,” said a statement from the City.
The blasting is required to create access and service line conduits to the site, as well as establish foundations for the plant and the required holding tank reservoirs.
Safety horns will sound before the blast and once again after the area is clear.
Ground vibration and air over pressure monitoring will also be conducted during blasting activities.
