The BC Wildfire Service responded to another two grassfires in the Kamloops Fire Centre on Saturday.
According to the BCWS, one fire was located 14.5 km northeast of Kamloops at the Dick Hart Memorial Park while the other was on Iron Mountain, six kilometres north of Merritt.
A total of 15 firefighters responded to the park to douse the 4.5-hectare fire. Members on-site worked to establish a hose lay around the perimetre of the blaze, which helped limit the spread.
That fire is reportedly now "being held." The suspected cause is unknown at this time.
Just eight crew members were called out to the Iron Mountain Blaze. They worked in conjunction with the Merritt Fire Department to suppress the flames.
A cause has yet to be determined for the incident. NowMedia is still looking to learn the status of the fire.
