Wildfire season is fast approaching and the BC Wildfire Service is already in full swing.
On Friday, crews responded to three new blazes in the region. The largest blaze, measured at 1.68 hectares, was discovered just west of Kamloops near the Tranquille River.
It is still being classified as a new fire. The cause of the blaze has yet to be determined.
Crews were also stationed south of Penticton for a pair of fires. The first fire was located one kilometre from Allendale Lake Road while the other was at the Oliver Water Tower.
Both blazes were less than a hectare in size and are suspected to be caused by humans.
The largest fire in the centre is still the Spahomin Creek Blaze. It is "being held" at 500 hectares.
NowMedia is looking to gather more information on the three fires.
