Penticton's Andi Naude named to Olympic team

A Penticton woman has been named to the Canadian Winter Olympic team.

Andi Naude will be apart of Canada’s freestyle skiing team that will descend on PyeongChang in just over two weeks.

This will be Naude’s first appearance at the Olympics after narrowly missing the cut for the Sochi games in 2014.

The 22-year-old, who is originally from Regina, picked up a silver medal at the 2018 FIS Freestyle World Cup at Mount Tremblant on Saturday.

It’s her fourth medal of the season, a total she’ll be looking to add to with a medal in PyeongChang.

In total, the freestyle skiing team includes 22 athletes, 12 men and 10 women, with a dozen returnees from the 2014 Olympics.

The 2018 Olympics begin on Feb. 9.
