A former Kamloops Blazer is making waves in the American Hockey League, this time winning a major award for the Hershey Bears.
Garret Pilon finished his first season with the Bears, collecting the club's rookie of the year award.
Pilon appeared in 71 games for the Bears where he scored 10 goals and collected 33 points. He took 97 shots during the season and finished with a 10.3% shooting percentage.
“It was a great season to build off of and learned a lot in this first-year pro," said Pilon. "Looking forward to keeping it going in playoffs.”
Pilon and the Bears start playoffs this Friday against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
