Kelowna Chiefs President and GM admitted to hospital during playoff series

The Kelowna Chiefs had an excellent comeback weekend where they were able to tie up their playoff series against the Revelstoke Grizzles at two games apiece.

However, the weekend was also bittersweet for the organization.

On Monday, via a post on the Chief’s Facebook page, the team announced their President and General Manager Grant Sheridan was admitted to a Revelstoke hospital during the weekend and has since been transferred to a trauma unit at Kamloops General Hospital where he is battling Bacterial Meningitis.

“Today we found out there is overall improvement in fighting the infection but there are still several complications going on,” reads the post.

“Grant is in the best hands possible and we ask to keep him in your prayers as he is in the fight of his life.”

The two teams will play game 5 in Kelowna on Monday night before returning to Revelstoke for game six on Tuesday.
