Logan Stankoven named Major Midget League Player of the Year

Is there anything this kid can't do? After breaking the Major Midget League goalscoring record and recording his first-ever WHL goal, Logan Stankoven added another trophy to his ever-growing case today.

The Sussex Thompson Blazers forward was named the Major Midget League Player of the Year. In addition to the award, he was also one of six players in the league named to the MML All-Star Team.

Stankoven appeared in 38 games this season where he scored 49 goals to go along with 52 assists and 36 penalty minutes. He joins Matthew Barzal and Jordan Weal, both NHL players, as the only 15-year-old to ever record 100 points in an MML season. His efforts helped turn around a Thompson Blazers franchise to secure 5th place in the league and a chance at playoffs.

The Kamloops Blazers reached out to show support for their number one prospect.

From everyone at KamloopsBCNow, congrats Logan!
