The Vancouver Canucks unveiled goalie Anders Nilsson's flashy new mask today via their Twitter account and it's pretty cool:
Goaltenders have a long-standing tradition of sporting snazzy masks and Nilsson's does a great job fusing style with some meaningful symbols.
The mask features a silhouetted sketch of his then pregnant wife (the couple has welcomed their baby boy since the mask was painted) as well as a sketch of Nilsson's two-year-old son Mio.
The Canucks organization have been supporting gay pride initiatives for a number of years and the mask shows both Nilsson's and the organization's support Vancouver's gay community.

Canucks Erik Gudbranson, Troy Stecher, and Jake Virtanen all took part in the Vancouver Pride Parade this past August.
“I have a couple friends who are gay, and life hasn’t been easy for them growing up … It’s time that hockey starts to pay some attention to that,” said Nilsson about the symbol.
