The TRU WolfPack's men's soccer team was in action on Tuesday, this time in sunny California.
Justin Donaldson, the club's lone 5th-year player, led the way for the Pack as they knocked off the Apple Valley Storm by a score of 2-1.
Donaldson scored in the first half to give the Pack the 1-0 lead. After the Storm, who are the 2002 age group defending National Champions, tied it up, Donaldson sent a ball to TRU captain James Fraser who scored the winner in the second half.
“They were a very good team who were very talented and technical,” said TRU head coach John Antulov. “They put us under a lot of bother but we were able to handle it. I thought in the first half, we had a good jump defensively. The build-up and attack were solid.”
The WolfPack have a day off before meeting the University of Fresno Pacific Thunderbirds on Thursday. TRU will play their final game in California on Saturday when they take on the College of the Sequoias Giants.
TRU opens their Canada West 2019-20 regular season on August 31st at Hillside Stadium against the UBC Thunderbirds at 1 pm.
