The TRU WolfPack women's soccer team is hoping to get stronger, this time by adding some Kamloops blood to the roster.
Solaine Sasakmoose is the latest player to agree to a letter of intent with the WolfPack. Sasakmoose, who was born in Kamloops but plays for Coquitlam Metro Ford, is a multi-positional player who can transition from wing to full back to forward.
“I believe I am a well-rounded player who can adapt to any position,” said Sasakmoose. "I think some of my other strengths are to take set pieces and deliver through balls, and being creative in the final third of the field.”
Sasakamoose will be pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree at TRU. After her visit to the Kamloops campus, Sasakamoose knew she wanted to study and play for the university.
“I felt at home and comfortable when I came for the TRU tour. It’s a great school with good support and a good team environment."
Sasakamoose is also the niece of Fred Sasakamoose, who was the first First Nations player in the National Hockey League. She will join the WolfPack starting this August.
