Samsung unveils impressive new Galaxy S8

Samsung introduced their latest phone on Wednesday and they say that it won’t explode in your pocket.

The Samsung Galaxy S8, which will hit stores on April 21st, is the follow up to the company’s controversial Galaxy S7.

The biggest selling point of the phone is the new infinity display, which has led Samsung to use the phrase “unbox your phone.”

They’ve rearranged certain internal aspects of the phone and embedded the home button inside the screen, allowing the phone to be almost entirely screen.

The S8 also features a digital assistant, similar to Siri, called Bixby.

Bixby offers four main features, which are voice recognition, detecting what the phone or user is looking at, providing reminders based on user routine and location and displaying the most relevant apps and services on a single screen.

Samsung is also boasting improved security features for the S8, thanks to a combination of an iris scanner, facial recognition and the classic fingerprint unlock.

You’ll also be able to purchase a Samsung Dex, which is a dock for your phone that will project the screen display onto your computer or TV monitor.

They’ve also made simple changes, like making it possible to zoom with one hand while filming and other improvements to the phone’s camera.

The phone will come in two different sizes and five different colours and will still be water resistant like their last release.

A lot more was unveiled today and you can see it all by watching the official launch video above or visiting the Samsung website.
